
Mary Catherine Derauf, age 75, of McCook, passed away Saturday, November 27th, 2021, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming. She was born March 5th, 1946 to Joseph and Margaret Hassler of McCook, Nebraska. She attended Saint Patrick Catholic School and graduated from McCook Senior High in 1964. Upon her graduation, Mary attended the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
On August 26th, 1972, Mary married Wesley “Skip” Derauf in Trenton, Nebraska. To this union they were blessed with two children. They spent their married lives in McCook where Mary was employed as a legal secretary for Colfer, Lyons, Wood, Malcom and Goodwin law office.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Margaret Hassler; her husband, Wesley “Skip” Derauf; and granddaughter, Carmen Brdar.
Mary is survived by her son, Joe Derauf of McCook; daughters, Danielle Derauf-Mowry and husband, Tanner Mowry, of McCook, Laura Larreau of Boise, Idaho; two brothers, Tommy Joe and wife, Pat Hassler, of Bayside, California; Dan and wife, Cindy Hassler, of Crete, Nebraska; one sister, Rose and Husband, Rich Rudy, of Lincoln, Nebraska; five grandchildren: Brandon Derauf and Hailey, Jayden, Gavin and Kinsley Mowry all of McCook; a great-granddaughter, Isla Brdar of Boise, Idaho, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Family will be present from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM to greet friends.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM, Thursday evening, December 2, 2021 at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday morning, December 3, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in McCook with Father Gary Brethour celebrating. Interment will follow services in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.
