North Platte City Council to Address Liquor Licenses, Cruise Night, and Snow Removal Program at Tuesday Meeting

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (June 17, 2025) — The North Platte City Council will convene Tuesday evening to consider a range of agenda items, including liquor license applications, upcoming event permissions, updates to the city’s snow removal program, and a series of financial resolutions.

Mayor Brandon Kelliher will call the meeting to order, followed by an invocation from Kent Winder of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting will be held in accordance with Nebraska’s Open Meetings Act, a copy of which is posted in the council chambers.

Among items on the Consent Agenda, council members will vote on:

  1. A location change for the liquor license of Dave’s Place Pizza & Wings,
  2. New liquor license applications for Tempura Japanese Restaurant and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2839,
  3. A resolution permitting alcohol consumption on East 5th Street during Platte River Cruise Night on July 12, and
  4. A special designated license for the North Platte Jaycees for the same event.

Also included is a revised resolution for the city’s public transit grant application, as well as appointments to the Board of Adjustment.

The Regular Agenda includes consideration of:

  1. An updated Snow Removal Program, aligning with City Ordinance § 91.21,
  2. A resolution to designate First Interstate Bank as a warrant lender and authorize related financing agreements,
  3. Issuance of warrants to contractors totaling more than $245,000 for completed work,
  4. Approval of routine city claims.

A closed session may also be held, if necessary, to discuss personnel matters, real estate transactions, or potential litigation.

Following the meeting, Mayor Kelliher will join FM 98.1 and Z 93.5 Country Wednesday morning to recap key decisions and discuss city updates.
