
A funeral service for Nancy “Sue” Kerr will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at the Spirit of the Rock Church in Oxford, Nebraska with Pastor Paul Sowden officiating. Interment will follow at the Edison Cemetery, at Edison, Nebraska.
Nancy “Sue” Kerr, 73 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska, passed away, on August 27, 2023, at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege, Nebraska. Sue was born in Oxford, on June 15, 1950, the fifth of six children, born to Melvin and Lois (Abraham) Bard. She received her education from Edison Public Schools.
On April 21, 1967, Sue was united in marriage to Jimmy Kerr in Beaver City, Nebraska, and to this union four children were born: Stephanie, Connie, Neil, and Angie. The couple made their home in Oxford.
Sue was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved running her in-home daycare for over 30 years. She loved those kids and their families. Sue enjoyed volunteering at the Oxford Thrift Store, the Granada Theater and with Meals-on-Wheels. Sue had a generous heart.
Sue enjoyed playing cards and was an excellent cook and laundry queen! She enjoyed watching all of her grandchildren’s activities.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Ramon Dawson.
Sue is survived by her husband, Jimmy of Oxford; her four children: Stephanie Figgins; Connie Lovin and her husband, Shannon; Neil Kerr and his wife, Stacy; and Angie Kerr; nine grandchildren: Dusitn Kerr; Ciara Figgins; Karesse Figgins; Jonas Lovin and his wife, Ali; Josiah Lovin and his wife, Brooklyn; Elijah Lovin and his wife, Grace; Sydney Kerr; Tyson Kerr; and Nathan Kerr; one great-granddaughter, Elle Lovin; four brothers: Fairen Bard and his wife, Sharon; Tom Bard; Gary Bard and his wife, Cindy; and Wendell Bard; along with a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the family present, at the Spirit of the Rock Church in Oxford.
A memorial has been established in Sue’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
