
Kenneth Masakatsu Okamoto, age 85, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on May 7, 2021 at Linden Court in North Platte after a battle with pneumonia. He was born on February 17, 1936 in North Platte to Isojo and Shigemi Okamoto.
Kenneth grew up in North Platte and graduated from North Platte Senior High School. He joined and proudly served in the United States Air Force for 27 years with one tour in Vietnam and Honorably Discharged on July 31, 1977. Kenneth later worked for the United States Post office before his retirement.
He was united in marriage to Lucette Rigollot on April 27, 1957 at Essey Les Ponts, France and to this union 3 sons were born: David, Dominique, and Danny. After which the couple lived in several places around the world.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Lucette; two sons, David (Lesley) Okamoto of Lincoln, NE and Daniel (Michelle) Okamoto of Kearney, NE; along with numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; one sister; and his son, Dominique.
A Memorial Service will be 11:30 am, Monday, May 17, 2021 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte, NE with Reverend Ness officiating. Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, NE with Full Military Honors provided by the United States Air Force. Book signing will be 9:00-5:00 on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte.
