
Orville Dean Haynes, 94, of North Platte, Nebraska died peacefully at Great Plains Health on March 21, 2023. Orville was born on June 17, 1928 in Stapleton, Nebraska to Loyd and Maude (Keiser) Haynes. His mother passed away when he was 2 ½ years old. His dad remarried and Orville was blessed to have Ivy (Paxton) Haynes for his mom until her passing away.
He attended Lone Valley School northeast of Stapleton, Nebraska. Orville was proud to say that he had served in the U.S. Army for several years. Orville was a regular attendee of Bethel Evangelical Free Church. He was active in the DAV chapter and the American Legion at Tryon, Nebraska. On November 18, 1956 he married Frances C. Hayes. To this union four children were born, Dean, LeAnn, Donna and Karen. Orville and Frances started out farming northeast of Sutherland and then moved to North Platte in August of 1960. Where he continued to live until his passing. Orville was a very hard worker and did a fabulous job of carpentry work. He helped build a lot of houses here in North Platte alongside with his wonderful boss Lewis Collins. After he retired, he continued to do remodeling jobs for people. Orville enjoyed visiting with people. He wouldn’t let a day or two go by without calling special people in his life. Our family would like to acknowledge all of the doctors and Home Instead care givers who diligently helped our dad the past several years.
Orville is preceded in death by his wife Frances, his mom Maude, his dad Loyd, stepmom Ivy; sister, Doris; brother, Floyd; sister-in-law, Cleo.
Survivors include his son Dean (Dianne)Haynes, Olathe, Kansas; daughters LeAnn (Vincent) Belfire, Buffalo Valley, Tennessee, Donna (Martin) Wullschleger, North Platte, Nebraska, Karen (Kent) Gutherless, North Platte, Nebraska; grandchildren Julianna (Robert) Poe, Nampa, Idaho, Stephanie (Brad) Price, Cape Town, Africa, Danielle (Brandon) Hoch, Shawnee, Kansas, Kristen Wullschleger, Grand Island, Nebraska, Megan Wullschleger, North Platte, Nebraska, Jared Wullschleger, North Platte, Nebraska; great-granddaughter Isabel, Cape Town, Africa; great-grandson’s Ezekiel, Shawnee, Kansas, Brooks, Nampa, Idaho; brother and sister-in-law Dallas (Thelma) Haynes, Syracuse, Nebraska, Stanley (Janet) Haynes, St. Cloud, Minnesota, Willis (Betty) Haynes, Cambridge, Nebraska; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Bethel Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Geoff Safford officiating. Lunch will be served at the church. Burial will follow at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens south of North Platte. Visitation will be noon – 7:00 P.M., on Friday, March 24, 2023. Family will be receiving friends 5-7. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
