Edith “Edie” Fern Hasenauer, 67, formerly of North Platte and Wellfleet, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Azria Health Care in Central City, NE after being there since 2008.  Her sister Randa Tobiasson and niece Julie Newland enjoyed being her co-guardians.
Edith was born on November 9, 1954 to Emil and Mabel (Pace) Hasenauer in North Platte, NE.  Edith grew up on a farm west of Wellfleet graduating from Maywood High School in 1973.  Edith married Raymond Schultz on May 25, 1974 and to this union a son, Cory Ray was born July 6, 1975.  He passed away March 26, 1976.  Edith and Raymond soon after divorced.  Edith worked in several nursing homes, loved going to Bible studies, singing in church choirs, crafting and collecting blue birds.  She was a simple, sweet woman who loved her family and never complained.  Watching the Husker games and wearing red was fun for her.  She grew up in the Wellfleet Methodist Church and attended North Platte Berean Church and loved her Savior.

Edith was preceded in death by her father Emil, brother Ralph Hasenauer, sister Elna Krueger, and only child Cory Schultz.
She is survived by her mother, Mabel of North Platte; brothers, Dick (Glenda) Hasenauer of North Platte, Art (Kris) Hasenauer of Wellfleet, Howard (Ruthie) Hasenauer of Wellfleet and Moses (Loretta) Hasenauer of Cheyenne, WY; sister, Randa (Toby) Tobiasson of North Platte; brother-in-law, Garry Krueger of Springfield, NE.  She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many nieces and nephews.  She treasured all her Central City Care Center caregivers and family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Todd Hasenauer officiating.  Burial will follow in Wellfleet Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 24th from 1 to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 – 7 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to either the family to assist with final expenses or to the Wellfleet Village Hall.  Online condolences and sharing of memories may be expressed to the family at www.carpentermemorial.com.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Carpenter Memorial Chapel.
