NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — The North Platte City Council will meet this evening at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, with a full agenda that includes several key infrastructure, development, and zoning issues.

One major item on the regular agenda is the first reading of Ordinance No. 4214, which would establish a procedure for determining equitable service charges for users of the city’s wastewater system. The ordinance aims to standardize how fees are assessed for wastewater discharge.

The council will also consider an agreement with Sustainable Beef, LLC to allocate wastewater plant capacity, as the company continues to expand its North Platte operations.

In redevelopment matters, council members will vote on a resolution to approve an addendum to the amended redevelopment contract for the North Platte Mall Project, as well as related actions. Another development-related item includes a resolution to accept a MicroTIF Blight and Substandard Study for property owned by Danlex Property Group, LLC at 1404 and 1420 Rodeo Road.

Also on the agenda:

  1. Approval of a $1.89 million street paving contract with Paulsen, Inc. for improvements to Francis Street and Bryan Avenue.
  2. First reading of Ordinance No. 4203, which would change sexually oriented businesses in light industrial districts from a permitted use to a conditional use.
  3. A conditional use permit hearing originally scheduled for apartments at 2102 South Jeffers has been withdrawn at the applicant’s request.

The meeting will begin with an invocation by Pastor Daniel Ramsey of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and can be viewed live at www.northplattene.gov/watch.
