Marjorie Irene Gleason-McClendon, age 71, of North Platte, Nebraska died October 30, 2020 at Great Plains Health. She was born on July 13, 1949 in Vermillion, South Dakota to Donald and Irene (Rishel) Brown. Marjorie grew up in South Dakota and Nebraska and was working as a waitress when she met William “Bill” Gleason. They were married in North Platte and the couple lived in Brady, Nebraska where they operated a gas station and raised their family. They later moved to North Platte where Marjorie was the cashier manager for Tomahawk Truck Stop.
Marjorie will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who had a wicked sense of humor. She loved and lived her faith and was a member of the Two Rivers Fellowship.
Survivors include her children, Vicki Gleason of North Platte, and Chad (Kari Larsen) Gleason of Kearney; a sister, Cheri (Tom) Oberg of North Platte; grandchildren, Stefanie Goodall of Axtell, Brandon (Rose) Goodall of North Platte, Crystal (Fernando) Gleason-Soto, Tylor Gleason of Kearney, and Alania Larsen of Kearney; great-grandchildren, Shayda Goodall, Abel Hoffman, Logan Soto, and Avery Soto; and several other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Brown and Irene Refior; a brother Kenneth Brown; and a nephew Christopher Brown. Memorials may be directed to Two Rivers Fellowship and online condolences can be made at www.adamsswanson.com.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday November 4, 2020 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte, Nebraska with Pastor Doug Lee officiating. Register book signing will be Tuesday from 9-5. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
