Late Thursday January 25th, 2024, Lynette J. Gunnerson passed away surrounded by family.
Lynette was born in Gothenburg, Nebraska, August 11, 1936 to Emil and Judith (Bratten) Aden.
Lynette spent a majority of her life living in Gothenburg, where she graduated high school with honors in 1954, met and married her husband Larry in 1960, and raised their three sons Alan, Kirk, and Kevin.
Nothing made Lynette happier than time spent with family. She was incredibly proud of all of her children and grandchildren graduating college. She is survived by all three boys and their wives, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, three step grand-children, and seven step great-grandchildren. Those who knew Lynette would describe her as stubborn, strict, or head-strong. And while those descriptions wouldn't be wrong, it's not the whole picture of who she was. She was these things out of necessity, three boys after all. Lynette was strong, determined, and always wanted the best for those she loved. She cared more than she would show, and was incredibly giving.
Lynette loved bowling, dancing, playing cards, doing puzzles, listening to music, and more than anything watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Her faith in the American Lutheran Church was very important.
Survivors include three sons, Alan (Myong) Gunnerson of Triangle, VA, Kirk (Brandy) Gunnerson of Lincoln, NE, Kevin (Kathy) Gunnerson of Moberly, MO, sister, LaVonne Banzhaf of Cambridge, NE; brother, Dean (Gaye) Aden of Kearney, NE.
Lynette was preceded in death by husband, Larry. Parents, Emil Aden and Judith Decker, step-father Spencer Decker, brothers, Richard (Dick) and Ronald Aden.
