Timely hitting is so important in the game of baseball. The FNBO Nationals of North Platte used some of that timely hitting in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a tie that would propel them to a win and an invite to the state tournament.
Now they look forward to a Hastings team that they feel is beatable. The same Hastings team that needed late inning heroics to beat North Platte in the first round of the tournament.
If the FNBO Nationals want to add a District Championship to their already impressive season they would need to beat Hastings twice. This season the FNBO Nationals are 1-2 against Hastings with the win coming in early June at Bill Wood Field.
The championship games start at 5pm with a second game to immediately follow if needed.
The state tournament starts on July 24th.
