Harmon Johnsen of Sutherland, a junior majoring in broadcasting, and sports media and communication, was part of a team that won an award in the Broadcast Education Association's Festival of Media Arts in February.
Johnsen was a sports reporter on the Nebraska Nightly team that won first place in the television newscast (three days a week or less) category.
The BEA Festival of Media Arts is an international media competition focused on student and faculty creative endeavors. In the last six years, more than 8,000 creative works have been submitted by BEA's 300-plus member institutions around the globe. This year, BEA received 2,285 entries and awarded 445 student winners from 111 colleges and universities.
