Ruby V Ahrens, age 92, of McCook, NE passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at her home in Kinship Pointe in McCook.
Ruby was born July 15, 1929 in Kearney, NE to parents Kenneth and Ida (Kersting) Cash.
On November 6, 1949, Ruby married the love of her life, Paul Ahrens in Shelton, NE. The couple recently celebrated seventy-two years of marriage. They were the proud parents of two children, Ronald Paul and Jean.
Ruby loved children, especially spending time with her grandkids. She sewed many angel costumes over the years for church Christmas programs, which she also directed. Crafts and ceramics were some of Ruby’s favorite pastimes, as was gardening and tending to her flowers. Ruby was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in McCook.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Ronald Paul Ahrens.
Those left to celebrate her life include her husband, Paul Ahrens of McCook; daughter, Jean (Ron) Rogers of McCook; three grandchildren, Brent (Candi) Rogers of McCook, Marshal (Bekki) Rogers of Lincoln, NE and Brock (Mindy) Rogers of McCook; fourteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in Ruby’s name for future designation. Contributions may be directed to Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, c/o the Ahrens Family, PO Box 476, McCook, Ne 69001.
Private family graveside services were held in Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Lonnie Felcher officiating.
