Nancy G. Wardyn, 86, of North Platte, passed away December 7, 2021 at Great Plains Health.  She was born on August 6, 1935 to Charles and Frances (Blessard) Ferris in Roanoke, Virginia.
Nancy was raised in Virginia and graduated from Andrew Lewis High School.  She moved to North Platte to be closer to family and worked at JCPenney.  Nancy met Johnny Wardyn and they were married on March 18, 1956 in North Platte.  She worked at both the downtown and mall locations of JCPenney and retired in 1993. 
Nancy was a member of First Christian Church, Eagles Auxiliary, VFW and American Legion Auxiliary, being the past president twice of the American Legion Auxiliary.  She loved gardening, dancing, and doing jigsaw puzzles.  Nancy was known as the “Cookie Lady” and shared her cookies with everybody.
Survivors include three children, Sheila (Mike) Sneed of North Platte, Deborah Jolliffe of North Platte, Steve (Kris) Wardyn of Hershey; eight grandchildren, Amy Sneed, Scott (Chandy) Sneed, Tyler (fiancé  Cassie) Pickett, John (Lyndsay) Jolliffe, Clayton Glos, Joslyn Glos, Brecken Glos, Angellyn Wardyn; five great grandchildren, Austin (Kylie) Sneed, Jillian Sneed, Emily Sneed, Bentley Jolliffe, Braylee Jolliffe; two great-great grandchildren, Bowen Sneed, Barrett Sneed; brother, Frank Amweg of North Platte; brother-in-law, Mark Eckert of Arlington, NE; beloved dog, Cuddles “her baby”; numerous other family members and many friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Frances; husband, Johnny; son, Thomas in 1971; sister, Doris Kuebler; brother, Bev Ferris; great granddaughter, Isabella Sneed.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday, December 13, 2021 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Wing officiating.  Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.  After the burial a luncheon will be held at North Platte Eagle’s Club.  Visitation will be held noon-7:00 P.M., with family present 4:00-6:00 P.M., Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.  The service will be livestreamed via the Adams & Swanson Facebook page for those unable to attend.
