Kelley D. Anderson, 60, of North Platte, passed away May 2, 2022, at home.  She was born on August 12, 1961, in Sutherland, to Max and Onida (Stewart) Anderson.
Kelley grew up in North Platte and attended North Platte High School, graduating with the class of 1979.  She attended Kearney State College and then on to Chadron State College where she received her master’s degree.  Kelley taught at North Platte High School for 34 years as the special education teacher.  After retirement, she was a substitute teacher at Maxwell. 
Kelley was involved in Community Playhouse, sponsored the North Platte Pacers, was heavily involved with prom, picking many of the themes for them.  She worked at the Platte Bar in her off time from teaching.  Kelley was also involved with the men’s and women’s softball association.  Kelley was a jokester and loved playing pranks, Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she absolutely hated snakes.  Kelley never took life too seriously and was always upbeat and full of life.  She was loved by everyone.  Kelley was always involved in something and always willing to help others.

Survivors include a brother, Rick Anderson of Hope Mills, NC; sister, Shelley Russell of Vancouver, WA; nieces, Crystal Russell of Vancouver, WA, Cassandra “Cassie” Anderson of Hope Mills, NC; nephew, Chad (Ashley) Russell and their children, Allen-Cody, Max, Jordon “JJ”, Abigail of Vancouver, WA; yorkies, Banjo Willy and Tank; numerous other family members and many, many friends.
Kelley was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Onida.

Memorials are suggested to North Platte Public Schools Foundation for scholarship fund for students pursuing special education teaching careers or North Platte Sports Association for men’s and women’s softball. Online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com.

To celebrate Kelley’s life, a potluck lunch will be held at the Platte Bar on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 3 pm.  Book signing will be held from 9-5 on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home.  Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
