NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (June 16, 2025) — A North Platte man has been arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping and stalking following a weekend incident involving an 18-year-old woman.

According to an arrest affidavit, a North Platte Police investigator was on patrol just after 10:30 p.m. when a female driver flagged him down near Fourth and Walnut Streets. She honked her horn repeatedly and waved frantically to get the officer’s attention, while a 2011 Honda Accord followed closely behind her vehicle.

The investigator stopped the Accord and spoke with a passenger, Christane Gallimore, who claimed they were checking on a woman seen walking barefoot. However, the driver who flagged down the officer told a different story.

She said she had just dropped off her friend, an 18-year-old woman, when Martinez Fonseca exited the Accord and approached them. With one leg still inside the vehicle, he allegedly gestured for the young woman to get into his car and repeatedly ordered her to do so.

The driver said she quickly got her friend back into her own vehicle and took her to the rear entrance of her home. After ensuring her friend was safely inside, she continued driving down the alley—at which point Martinez Fonseca allegedly followed her and even attempted a pit maneuver to force her to stop.
