Ogallala Teacher is Recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching

Ogallala, Neb. - Jennifer Jones, a high school science teacher at Ogallala Public Schools is the recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).  

Mrs. Jones has been teaching for OPS for 13 years and teaches high school Chemistry, Advanced Chemistry-Dual Credit, Anatomy/Physiology, Physics, and Science Capstone to 10th-12th grade. She has been an educator for 15 years and taught for two years at Torrington High School in Torrington, Wy. 

The President Award is the highest national recognition a K-12 math or science teacher can be awarded in the United States. In a social media created by OPS, OPS states " Mrs. Jones has gone above and beyond to inspire a love for learning, fostering critical thinking and curiosity in her students. Her hard work and passion are shaping the future of STEM education, and we couldn’t be prouder to have her as part of our staff at OPSD."
