North Platte resident, Ed Doucette, passed away at his home on January 29, 2022, at the age of 70.
Ed was born to Edmond and Alfhild Doucette on August 16, 1951, at Scobey, Montana, where he grew up. After graduating from high school, Ed went to mechanic school in North Dakota. He married Bonnie Zessin on February 3, 1973, at Scobey and they have been together for 49 years.
Ed worked for a plumbing company in Grand Island and for Buckyrus-Erie before hiring on with the Union Pacific Railroad. Over the years, his work took him to various places in Montana, Idaho and Nevada until September of 2000 when the UPRR brought him and Bonnie to settled in North Platte. Ed had many hobbies and was a member of a gun club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Alfhild Doucette; son-in-law, Aaron Burks; and grandson, Adan Luke Burks.
Survivors include Ed's wife, Bonnie, and daughter, Amanda (Marshall) Gallegos, of North Platte; sons, Michael (Debra) Doucette, of Honeyville, UT, and Douglas (Sharla) Doucette, of Chubbuck, ID; his brother, Daniel Doucette, of Seattle, WA; sisters, Linda (Mike) Bellows, of Thompson Falls, MT, Karleen (Terry) Howard, of Puyallup, WA, and Laura Ide, of Eagle River, AK; as well as 6 grandkids, 3 great-grandkids, and other family.

In keeping with Ed's wishes, cremation was chosen and there will be no services. Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
