The City of North Platte is declaring a Snow Alert effective immediately.&nbsp; The purpose of a snow alert is to give people advanced warning to move their vehicles from the snow routes before a snow emergency is declared.&nbsp;&nbsp;

City crews are working to clear and sand streets, which is difficult due to underlying ice.&nbsp; We expect very cold temperatures and more snow throughout the week.&nbsp; Due to the amount of snow that has fallen in North Platte, City crews expect the snow removal efforts to continue for several days.&nbsp;

We ask that residents remove vehicles from the snow emergency routes to assist city crews.&nbsp; We also want to remind everyone that it’s unlawful to push snow into the city streets, further complicating snow removal efforts.&nbsp;
