Rudolph E. “Rudy” Romero, 76, passed away December 19, 2021 at Great Plains Health. He was born on April 30, 1945 to Roy and Margaret (Archuletta) Romero in Trinidad, CO.
Rudy went to school for a short time in Trinidad, CO, then moved to and grew up in Denver. He married Irene Lujan on July 4, 1960. Rudy delivered milk and ice cream in Denver. They moved to Las Vegas in 1986 where he worked as an engineer. He retired and moved back to Denver in 2004, where he worked for a construction company for several years. In 2007, they moved North Platte to be closer to family.
Rudy was a happy, bubbly man who enjoyed music and Hallmark movies. He was a vibrant man in the mornings, always whistling a tune. He gave of himself to everyone around him. Rudy loved to cook for his family and passed that on to his children, especially Irene’s recipes. He was a Denver Bronco fan and was a home remedy doctor who practiced natural healing.
Survivors include his children, Renea (Jose) Gutierrez of Las Vegas, NV, Valerie (James) Howell of North Platte, Desiree (Cesar) Torres of North Platte; grandchildren, Vanessa (Josh) Govenor of Las Vegas, NV, Alexandra (Patrick) Gruttadauria of Las Vegas, NV, James (Kristi) Howell of North Platte, Joshua (Alicia) Howell of North Platte, Jeffery Howell of North Platte, Nicole Torres of North Platte, Cesar Torres Jr. of North Platte, Rudy Romero of San Francisco, CA, Juan Carrillo of Denver, CO, Sarah Romero of Denver, CO, Lily Romero of Denver, CO; great grandchildren, Karter Govenor, Oakley Miller, Alison Howell, Nora Howell; sister, Linda Romero of Colorado Springs, CO; numerous other family members and many friends.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Margaret; wife, Irene in 2015; children, Patricia Romero and Roy Romero; siblings, Elizabeth and Joseph Medina.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 27, 2022 at Harvest Christian Fellowship with Pastor Jeremy Rinke officiating. Inurnment will follow at North Platte Cemetery. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
