The North Platte City Council will meet Tuesday, July 7, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers with a relatively full agenda that includes utility infrastructure financing, the future of the Public Safety Building, development projects and changes for Cody Park.

Among the night's largest items is the first reading of an ordinance authorizing the issuance of up to $10 million in Combined Utilities Revenue Bonds. The funding would pay for water improvements in Special Water Improvement Districts 4, 5 and 6, along with sewer improvements in Sewer Connection Districts 21, 22 and 23. City officials are recommending the council waive the normal three-reading requirement because of transaction timing and current market conditions.

Council members will also consider authorizing the release of a Request for Proposals for architectural and design services to replace the current police portion of the Public Safety Building. Approval would begin the process of selecting a design firm for the project.

Development will also be on the agenda as council members consider final approval of the Legends Second Subdivision near West State Farm Road and the Platteview 5th Replat near East Sixth Street.

Families who visit Cody Park could also see a new pricing option if the council approves an amendment to the Cody Park Rides and Concessions Fee Schedule. The proposal would add a $10 daily ride wristband that allows unlimited rides throughout the day while keeping individual ride tickets available. According to city staff, the change is intended to simplify the ticketing process and encourage longer visits to the park.

Other scheduled business includes accepting the Certificate of Completion for Sanitary Sewer Connection District No. 22, holding the Board of Equalization for the district, considering the second reading of an ordinance authorizing the conveyance of a vacated alley, and the first reading of a new pedestrian safety ordinance addressing the use of medians. The council will also consider three special designated liquor licenses for beverage tasting events planned July 31 at Pals Brewing Company.

The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the City Hall Council Chambers. Residents may attend in person or watch the meeting live through the City's online streaming service.
