News Release Community Connections
Join Community Connections for the first-ever Virtual Doggy Dash 5k/ 1-mile run. All throughout the month of September participants will be able to register and complete their races whenever they choose, whether it’s on the track, trail or treadmill! The cost is $25 per participant which includes a long sleeve t-shirt and a medal.

If registered by September 11th, participants will be able to pick up their shirts and medals on October 6th from 4-7 in the downtown Nebraskaland National Bank Parking lot (121 N Dewey). If registered after September 11th, participants will receive their shirts at a later date.
Participants can run or walk with their dog, individually, or with a group. There are fun contests for dogs and their owners, which include; largest ‘pack’ of runners, best ‘pack’ theme, most talented dog, and best dressed dog, and furthest registrant. Doggone great prizes with be awarded. All our contests are online this year. See the Community Connections Facebook or website for more information about the contest.
New this year is the “PAWS for a Photo” Challenge. Visit one of our Top Dog, Gold, or Silver sponsors and snap a picture in front of their building and post it to Facebook with the #DoggyDash2020 to be entered. Everybody, race participant or not, is welcome to participant in this fun challenge. Winners will be randomly selected every Friday throughout September. See our Facebook page for more details.
Our ‘Top Dog” sponsor is Nebraskaland National Bank. Gold level sponsors for this event include Adams Bank & Trust, Westfield Small Animal Clinic, and Smart Marketing. Silver level sponsors include First National Bank, Elks Lodge #985, Walmart Distribution Center, Great Plains Foot and Ankle Specialists, and Raising Canes.
The Doggy Dash is a fun way to not only spend some quality time with your favorite pup but to also support a great cause. All proceeds from this fundraiser fund the Community Connections Substance Abuse Prevention Program.
