Duana Yvonne 'Dewey' Thomas-Karr, age 70, of Indianola, Nebraska passed away unexpectedly at her home in Indianola on Sunday, February 21, 2021.
Duana was born on march 25, 1950 in Charles City, Iowa to parents James LeRoy and Donaldeen Yvonne (Palmer) Rowe.
On September 21, 1989, Duana married Harold G. Karr in Phoenix, Arizona. The couple made their home in Indianola, Nebraska. Duana enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls and Elvis memorabilia. She will be remembered for her willingness to help others. Duana worked at Walmart, the North Sale Barn, and as a bookkeeper for her brother at Rowe Auto Repair in McCook, Nebraska.
Duana was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Karr; and a son, Jamie Thomas.
Those left to celebrate her life include her children, David Thomas and Michele Hicks, both of McAlester, Oklahoma; her stepson, Harold Karr, Jr. of Illinois; stepdaughters Kristine Lilly of Russellville, Arkansas and Cynthia Berry of Pennsylvania; her brother, Dennis Gene Rowe of McCook, Nebraska; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, 305 West C Street in McCook, Nebraska. Burial will be at a later date.
