UPDATED North Platte man killed in stabbing, woman arrested for murder

Saathoff made her initial court appearance in Lincoln County Court on Thursday. Her next court appearance is scheduled for November 19 in Lincoln County court.

Saathoff's bond was set at ten percent of $1 million.

A North Platte man is dead and a woman has been arrested for 2nd-degree murder after a stabbing on Thursday morning.

According to North Platte police, on November 12th, at 3:23 a.m., officers responded to the 200 Block of West 1st, for a report of a stabbing that just occurred.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim, identified as 20-year-old Bryce Wood. Officers also made contact with 19-year-old Harlie Saathoff, who was also on the scene.

Police say officers observed injuries on Wood consistent with being stabbed and immediately provided first aid. North Platte Fire and Rescue arrived and began treating Wood.

According to police, Wood was transported by ambulance to Great Plains Health and later succumbed to his injuries.

Officers recovered a knife at the scene and determined there was probable cause to arrest Saathoff.

Saathoff was placed under arrest and incarcerated at the Lincoln County Detention on suspicion of 2nd-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
