Vagene Bomberger (1948-2021)

Vagene Bomberger, age 72, of North Platte, Nebraska died January 14, 2021 at her home. Vagene was born November 07, 1948, in North Platte, NE. to Eugene O. and Vada I. (Dailey) Bellows.

She graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 1966 then married Billy (Butch) Cooper in Holyoke, CO. To this union 2 children were born, LeeAnn and Ted. The couple lived in North Platte where Vangene worked at a grocery store. In 1970, she married John Biggers, to this union Tracy was born and they lived in North Platte, NE. On, February 14, 1992, she married Gary Edgington and they moved to Venice, Florida in 1994 after Gary’s retirement, then moved back to North Platte in 2003 after Gary’s health declined. Gary passed away in 2011 and was united in marriage to Martin Bomberger on November 7, 2016. Vagene was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, active in VFW Auxiliary, Women of the Moose and Newcomer’s. She volunteered at the Moose Lodge in Florida and North Platte. She will always be remembered as being a lot of fun and a great drinking buddy.

Survivors include husband Marty of North Platte, NE; daughter, LeeAnn Skinner of North Platte, NE; grandchildren, Zachary (Faith) Cooper, North Platte, Karisa (Rudy) Rodriguez, Kyle (Holli) Rollenhagen, McCook, NE., 11 great-grandchildren, Dominique, Jace, Dayton, Xander, Jevvrey, Johiah, Theron, Pharcius, Kane, Windlyn and Haddie.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons, Ted and Tracy; and 2 husbands, John and Gary.

A memorial has been established to the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte, NE, with Pastor Gary Smith officiating. Burial will be at the North Platte Cemetery. Book signing will be noon to 7 P.M, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
