Jason Petik, Sidney Regional Medical Center’s CEO, was awarded the 2024 AHA Grassroots Champion Award at the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) Advocacy Day for his incredible service and efforts. The American Hospital Association (AHA) Grassroots Champion Award was created to recognize hospital leaders who most effectively educate elected officials on both the national and state level on how major issues affect hospitals’ vital role in the community, who have done an exemplary job in broadening the base of community support for the hospital, and who are tireless advocates for hospitals and their patients. Annually, one individual from each state is recognized as a “Grassroots Champion” by the AHA in consultation with state hospital associations.
According to David Slattery, the NHA Senior Director of State & Rural Advocacy, “This award goes to an individual who has a strong track record in grassroots advocacy for their hospital and community. The NHA appreciates Jason’s work and involvement with the provider assessment and EMS guidance in the legislature over the past year.”
SRMC is proud to have a CEO who advocates for our community, provides support for our organization and patients, and who educates officials on the important role SRMC has in Sidney and the surrounding areas.
