Joyce Annette (Kohlmeier) Trosper, age 75, passed away on May 12, 2024, at the Tri-Valley Hospital in Cambridge, Nebraska after a short, hard-fought battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  She was surrounded by her family who will miss her dearly.

Joyce was born on January 13, 1949, in Yuma, Colorado to Hubert H.W. and Lois Isabele (Tupker) Kohlmeier.  Joyce graduated from McCook, Nebraska High School in 1967.  From two previous marriages, she was blessed with four children.  When she married Norman Fredrick Trosper on May 24, 1977, she gained three additional children, and they have enjoyed 47 years together.

Joyce was a very hard worker and also a natural caretaker.  She and Norm owned and operated the Dairy Creme, which was enjoyed by the community, ball teams, kids from the swimming pool, and the many friends the Trosper bunch brought home.  Joyce also worked many years for Cambridge Memorial Hospital as a CNA, and Tri-Valley Health Systems as a Physical Therapist Assistant and Receptionist.

Joyce enjoyed playing dominos with her friends, afternoon coffee club, a bowling league, snow birding to Texas, relaxing at home with her beloved dogs, and the company of her close friends, including Valaine Kester and Wanda White.  She loved beer and Oreos - together!  Joyce was a stranger to no one.  If you were her friend, you were her family, and her door was always open to you.  She would tell all those she loved that she was posting angels around them.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Kohlmeier.

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt.  She is survived by her husband, Norm, of their home in Cambridge; daughter, Tammy Sexton (Bob), Cambridge, NE; son, Dain Trosper (Shawn Williamson) Princeton, TX; daughter, Ann Trosper, Cambridge, NE; daughter, Deb Ledesma, Urbandale, IA; son, Dusty Trosper, Lincoln, NE; daughter, Amy Haussler (Kurt), Holton, KS; and daughter Becky Ladwig, Fort Calhoun, NE.

Joyce is also survived by her grandchildren: Matt Sexton (Casey), Kayla Mashek (Brian), Mary McAtee (Phil), Jake Williamson, Seth Trosper, Kyra Trosper (Jarred), Gabrielle McGowan (James), Joey Ledesma, Austin Ledesma (Finn), Adelaide Wolf, AJ Haussler, Faith Haussler (Blake), Sammie Ladwig, McKenna Ladwig, Krista Sayer (Jay), Kate Marty (James), and 21 great-grandchildren.

Joyce chose cremation, and her memorial services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, May 15, 2024, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Cambridge, with Pastor Bill Weaver providing words of comfort.  Inurnment in the Fairview Cemetery of Cambridge will follow services.  Following the burial, the family will gather to continue the celebration of Joyce’s life at Amateur’s Bar ’N Grill in Cambridge.  Oreos provided!

Memorials are suggested to the family of Joyce Trosper for future designation.  Online condolences may be left at lockenour.com.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Lockenour-Jones Mortuary of Cambridge.
