George Earl Davy Sr, age 73, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on December 25, 2020 at his home.
He was born on May 22, 1948 at Oakland’s Children’s Hospital in Oakland, California to Earl Lee Davy and Marie Bayliss and grew up in Omaha, Nebraska.
George entered the United States Army, serving in Viet Nam in 1969.
He was united in marriage to Gladys Akers on February 14, 2020 and the couple lived in North Platte, Nebraska.
George was a member of the North Platte Baptist Church and 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother.
George is survived by his wife, Gladys Davy; sons, Michael (Erica) Davy, George Davy Jr. and Tristen Davy; a daughter, Tonia Davy; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Funeral service will be at 11:00a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the North Platte Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Reeves officiating. Graveside services will follow with Full Military Honors provided by the North Platte Honor Guard at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska. Visitation and book signing will be Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte from 9:00a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Memorials are designated to the family.
