Rich Broome, age 61, of Sutherland, died unexpectedly at Great Plains Health on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.
Rich was born April 15, 1959 and since his dad was in the military, Rich lived in many places including Alaska, Japan and Maryland, and when he was done with school he too joined the military. Rich served in the U.S. Marine Corps. and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds suffered in action following the bombing of the Marine barracks in Lebanon.

Rich liked fishing, shooting guns, and fireworks. On the 4th of July he liked putting on a show with the brightest and loudest fireworks he could find. Rich was proud of his service to our country and proud to be a Marine! He was also an avid Notre Dame fan who especially enjoyed chiding Nebraska fans about the rivalry.
In the last few years Rich enjoyed spending time with his girlfriend, Susan Seifer. He loved spoiling her and taking care of her, Rich would do anything for her. He also loved his grandkids, they were so special to him.
