Charlotte Ann Schroeder Farr was born on December 27, 1932, in Oxford, Nebraska, to William and Katie Schroeder, the youngest girl of six children. A seventh child, Dale, came to be part of their family when he was a baby. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed on April 14, 1946, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oxford. She graduated from Oxford High School with the Class of 1950. After graduation, she worked as a telephone operator.

Charlotte married Wesley Dale Farr on August 9, 1953, at St. John’s in Oxford. While Wes was serving in the army in Germany, Charlotte lived and worked in several locations. After his discharge in 1955, they lived and worked in Sidney, Nebraska, where two daughters, Kris and Deb, were born. The family moved to a farm north of Arapahoe and then north of Cambridge where three more children were added, Jan, Brad, and Scott. They made one more move to a farm outside Cambridge and then into Cambridge in 1996. Charlotte and Wes enjoyed dancing and had a large group of friends who went to many dances around the area. Ron Scott and the Roadmasters were their favorite group of theirs. They also traveled with Jerry Petersen trips to many locations. Charlotte was a member of an extension club, a ladies’ coffee club, and was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cambridge. She also had a large garden and did a lot of canning and dressing chickens. She thoroughly enjoyed watching Hallmark Christmas movies and listening to polka music.
