North Platte, Neb. – North Platte Community College softball team suffers a pair of losses to Northeastern Junior College at home on Wednesday afternoon.

Northeastern opened the scoring with a nine-run second inning on four hits, three walks while two batters were hit by pitch.
The Plainswomen tacked on five runs in the third and two runs in the fourth inning, while holding the Knights to just four hits in game one.
Sheena Smith pitched two innings allowing nine runs on four hits. Alieze Moreno and Callie Klemenz came on in relief and combined to allow seven runs on four hits, while walking four batters.

Six players tallied at least one hit against the Plainswomen in game two. Northeastern jumped out to a 3-0 lead, before North Platte battled back to score two runs in the bottom of the second.
Heaven Hutchison and Smith drew walks before a wild pitch and a single by Byanka Tyan pulled the Knights back within one.
In the bottom of the fourth, Hutchison drew a walk and would later score on a Smith fly ball to right field to even the game at 3-3.
Northeastern broke the deadlock with two runs in the sixth and seventh innings to earn the sweep of the Knights.
Victoria Arellano took the loss in the circle, as she pitched all seven innings and allowed seven runs on nine hits.
Knights (4-18, 0-6 Region IX) will conclude the home portion of their schedule on Saturday with a Region IX doubleheader against Southeast Community College. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at the Dowhower Softball Complex in North Platte.
