Rodney Ivan "Rod" Lindekugel, age 75, of Hershey, Nebraska, passed away on December 23, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 5, 1946 to Ivan and Nina (Davis) Lindekugel in Lexington, Nebraska.
Rod graduated from Cozad High School with the Class of 1965 and graduated from Kearney State College in 1970 with an education degree. He married Cheryl Wicks in June of 1958. They returned to Cozad, Nebraska where he worked at Monroe for a short time, the went to work for Bee Line Trucking which moved his family to North Platte, Nebraska. Rod later worked for Ideal Trucking, then moved to Brown Transfer where he retired as a terminal manager.
Rod loved to fish, watch sports, and was a league bowler. He coached softball for his girls and loved attending his granddaughters' activities. Rod was a very competitive person. He loved his job and enjoyed meeting new people and selling for his job.
Rod was a member of Hershey Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and was very faithful to his church.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl, of Hershey, NE; children, Cari Ann (Mike) Brownawell of Hershey, NE and Kim Lindekugel of Durham, NC; grandchildren, Baylee Brownawell, Carlee Brownawell, and Michalee Brownawell; sister, Caroly Weahterly of Cozad, NE; brother, Lonnie (Brenda) Lindekugel of Maumelle, AR; brothers-in-law, Byron (Merrie) Wicks of Littleton, CO and Brad (Sally) Wicks of Seymour, IN; and numerous other family members and many friends.
Rod was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Nina; a daughter, Debra Le Lindekugel; and a brother-in-law, Rock "Rock" Weatherly.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Michael J. Fox organization for Parkinson's Research.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2021 at Hershey Baptist Church in Hershey, NE with Reverend Kevin Henricks officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Lawns Memorials Gardens in North Platte, NE.
Visitation will be held from noon to 7:00 p.m., with family present from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte, NE, which is in charge of arrangements. The service will be livestreamed via the Adams & Swanson Facebook page for those unable to attend. The family requests masks be worn at the service.
