Posted Mar 30, 2021 7:30 PM

Linda Marlene Hobbs, age 72, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 5, 2021 at North Platte Care Center.
Linda was born the youngest of 7 children to Kermit and Ruby (Smith) Wheeler in North Platte, Nebraska on February 24, 1948.
She was united in marriage to Larry Hobbs on February 17, 1973 at the home of Jerry and Norma (Hobbs) McConaughy.  The couple lived in Grand Island, Nebraska before moving to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1982, and then back home to North Platte in 1988 to continue raising their family.
In the 48 years they spent together, Larry and Linda owned and operated many restaurants, Hobb'E's in North Platte being the longest and final one.  While not busy raising kids or running a business, Linda enjoyed singing and performing alongside Larry, commonly inviting the public to come dance as well.
Linda's life revolved around her family.  It was no doubt that her many children and grandchildren were the most important part of her life.  Linda will be remembered as the loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother that she was.
She is survived by her husband; 3 daughters; 1 son; 3 granddaughters she helped to raise; 19 other very special grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one brother; and lots of nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored.
Linda is reunited with her mother and father; one daughter; 2 brothers; and 3 sisters.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Harvest Christian Fellowship with Pastor Jeremy Rinke and Trinity Terry Officiating.
Memorials are requested to the family to be designated at a later date.
A memorial book signing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.
The service will be live-streamed via the Carpenter Memorial Chapel Facebook page.
