&nbsp; The North Platte Police Department will be working with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Safety Administration to make sure citizens stay safe on the roads during the Thanksgiving Holiday Season. Of the 361 traffic fatalities in 2021, half were unrestrained. 

 Additional officers will be on the streets enforcing our traffic laws with an emphasis on unrestrained vehicle occupants.  Whether you’re driving out of town or just across town to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, remember that more vehicles will be on the roads than usual.  The North Platte Police Department would like to remind you to “Buckle Up. Every Trip. Every Time”.&nbsp;&nbsp;
