
Leona L. Hendrix, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on May 28, 2023, at Centennial Park Retirement Village. She was 83 years young. She was born to Vernon and Bessie (Beatty) Osborn on June 6, 1939, in Arapahoe, NE, at home.
Leona attended grade school in Keystone, NE, where she grew up, and graduated high school in Ogallala, NE. She married William Hendrix on December 24, 1958, in Brule, NE. Five children were born to this union, Clif, Lori, Kerry, Brenda, and Steve.
She worked different jobs throughout her life, including Keystone Arthur Telephone Company, TRW in Ogallala, and after moving to Colorado she was owner of Arriba Bar and worked at Little England Motel before she retired.
In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, driving around looking at Christmas lights, playing cards, doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles. In her younger days, she enjoyed shooting and was very precise at it and enjoyed a quiet time at the lake fishing. She could be described as no frills and ornery with a little bit of stubbornness.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Hendrix of North Platte, NE; children, Clif (Dori) Hendrix of North Platte, NE, Lori (the late Paul) Cartwright of Paxton, NE, Kerry Hendrix of St. Charles, MO, Brenda (Dale) Bode of Pearce, AZ, and Steve (the late Chris) Hendrix of Thorton, CO; 8 grandchildren, Amanda (Mike) Myers of North Platte, Kami (Travis) Schmitz of Omaha, NE, Kathryn (Drew) Winston of Pearce, AZ, Willie (Angel) Moreen of Wisner, NE, Logan Anderson of North Platte, Colton Hendrix of Mullen, William and Savannah Hendrix of St. Charles, MO; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Billy (Darlene) Osborn of Mullen, Sister in-laws Carol Osborn of North Platte, Faye Osborn of Ogallala, and Ann Doud of Wisconsin; many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding her in death are her parents; 3 brothers, William Osborn of Keystone, Roy Osborn of Brule, and Ralph Osborn of North Platte; and son-in-law, Reed Gunter of Paxton.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 10 A.M. (CST) at the Paxton Cemetery, with Reverend Mark Baldwin officiating.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 12 P.M. to 7 P.M. with family present from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M.
