Daisy Irene Miller, 80, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Linden Court.
Daisy was born on June 10, 1943 in North Platte, NE, the daughter of Donald A. and Marie Ann (Johnson) Hazelrigg.
Daisy graduated from North Platte high school in 1961. She was married on July 2, 1961 in North Platte to Donald E. Miller, the love of her life, and together they had three daughters.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. Raising and spending time with her family was her world. When asked by her husband Don what she wanted for their 25th wedding anniversary her response was a family room big enough for all her family to gather. She was known by all the neighborhood children as either mom or grandma. She made sure everyone was always well fed and a coffee pot was always brewing. Daisy enjoyed interior house painting, camping, crocheting, and cake decorating. She was a homemaker, a para for Lincoln Elementary School for many years and was also a member of the North Platte National Guard Auxiliary. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Daisy’s memory are her husband of 62 years, Donald; daughters, Dianne (Robbie) Ponce of North Platte, Dixie Jochum of Sutherland, and Donna (Lyle) Urbanec of Raymond; grandchildren, Russell (Christina) Brown of Cheyenne, WY, Jonathan (Jeannette) Brown of Bellevue, NE, Lucas (Caiti) Brown of Seward, Dawn (Daniel) Small of Sutherland, Brandy (Ty) Taylor of Omaha; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Grous, and Karen (Mick) Inman; brother, Donald (Pat) Hazelrigg; in-laws, Karen (Jim) Brown and David (LeeAnn) Miller; and several nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
