Carrel Gene White, 88, of North Platte, passed away August 19, 2024 at Linden Court.  He was born May 10, 1936 to Fay and Hilda (Kruse) White in Gothenburg.

Carrel grew up North of Cozad and Gothenburg.  At the age of 10, he moved with his family to Hershey and graduated from Hershey High School.  In 1955, Carrel enlisted in the United States Air Force.  He was honorably discharged in 1959 after serving in Ohio, Wyoming, New York and in the Pacific.  On March 9, 1956 Carrel married Gladys Korbel at Hershey Methodist Church.  To this union two sons were born: Michael and David.  Carrel went to work for Western Electric in 1960 and traveled with his work across the country until he retired in 1995.  He enjoyed camping, boating, and outdoor activities.  He was a car enthusiast, especially enjoying Mercurys.

Survivors include wife, Gladys of North Platte; sons, Michael (Sandy) White of Laporte, CO, David (Terri) White of Pasco, WA; grandchildren, Kelsey White of Manhattan, MT, Shelby (Jordan) Lundstedt of Wellington, CO, Miranda White of Lincoln, Brittany White of Lincoln, Kacy (Ty) Leisy of Alliance, Zach (Kaylie) Anderson of Kennewick, WA, Kaisha White of Pasco, WA, Tyler White of Kennewick, WA; great grandchildren, Tristen, Tayven, Teagen, Treycen, Tayten, Tylen, Tyssen, Shealynn, Aydan, Kaylei, Luke, Tucker; siblings, June Roberts of Ft. Worth, TX, Darrell (Margaret) White of Sutherland, Pam James of Longmont, CO; numerous other family members and many friends.

Preceding him in death were parents, Fay and Hilda; sister, Lois Freeman; brother, Dick White.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Evans officiating.  Inurnment will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 2, 2024 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.  Those wishing to sign the register book may do so noon-4:00 P.M., Friday, August 30, 2024 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
