The North Platte City Council will meet Tuesday evening, April 7, with a full agenda that includes infrastructure contracts, multiple public hearings on zoning and land use, and several liquor license approvals.
The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall and will open with an invocation, pledge of allegiance, and roll call.
Council members will first consider a consent agenda made up of routine items expected to be approved in a single motion. Those items include approval of meeting minutes, the February treasurer’s report, mayoral appointments to the North Platte Tree Board, and several special designated liquor license requests tied to upcoming events. The consent agenda also includes consideration of a subdivision request near Rodeo Road, funding for a new park shelter in Cody Park, and approval of a proposal to replace the fueling system at the city’s Public Service Department.
The regular agenda includes consideration of a contract related to the industrial wastewater treatment plant project, as well as action on multiple ordinances. Those include amendments tied to Paving District No. 842 and a proposal to vacate a portion of an alley between East 12th Street properties.
A large portion of the meeting will be dedicated to public hearings. Council members will consider several zoning and land use changes, including requests connected to property along North River Road and East 2nd Street. Proposals include amendments to the city’s comprehensive plan, rezonings between agricultural, residential, and commercial districts, and conditional use permits for developments such as a contractor’s office, a new beverage service facility at the Wild West Arena, and an outpatient clinic.
Additional discussion is scheduled on the potential sale of two industrial lots near Prospect Drive and Prospect Lane, along with routine approval of claims.
The agenda also allows time for public input, informational updates from city officials, and a possible closed session if needed to discuss personnel, real estate, or legal matters.
The meeting will be streamed live on the City of North Platte’s YouTube page.
