The North Platte City Council will meet this week to consider a wide-ranging agenda that includes multiple liquor license applications, ordinance actions, infrastructure financing, and the sale of several city-owned properties.

The meeting will be streamed live on the City of North Platte’s YouTube channel at www.northplattene.gov/watch.

Among items on the consent agenda, council members will consider approval of minutes from the January 6 meeting, several special designated liquor license applications tied to upcoming community events, and the annual designation of depository banks for city funds in 2026. The council will also consider sending a Class D liquor license application for City Discount Liquors at 821 North Jeffers Street to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission with no recommendation.

Additional consent items include approval of updated Title VI non-discrimination policies for North Platte Public Transit and multiple special designated liquor licenses for events hosted by local banks, nonprofits, and organizations at locations including the D&N Event Center and church parish halls.

On the regular agenda, council members will consider authorizing the mayor to sign contracts with Motorola for door access and camera system upgrades across all city buildings. The council will also take action on several ordinances, including a first reading to amend city code related to ice and water shield requirements and third readings to create two paving extension districts along proposed Francis Street.

Financial matters on the agenda include resolutions designating Equitable Bank as a warrant lender and authorizing the issuance of 25 warrants totaling more than $7.5 million to pay approved claims.

The council will also hold five public hearings related to the sale of city-owned real estate. Properties under consideration include parcels on West 6th Street, South Sycamore Street, and East 5th Street, with proposed buyers ranging from private individuals to Southwest Farm & Auto Supply, LLC.

The meeting will conclude with approval of claims, public agenda requests, and informational updates from city leadership before adjournment.

Public participation is permitted at the discretion of the mayor, with guidelines in place to ensure orderly proceedings.
