Rose Mary White, age 86, of Arthur passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026 at her home.

Rose was born July 26, 1939, to Roy and Elsie Hyatt in Ogallala, NE. She lived most of her younger years on the ranch southwest of Arthur until her family moved to Tryon, NE where she graduated from high school. She married Lloyd in 1957 and their first son, Roy, was born in Grant, NE. They then moved to Montana where their other three sons, Terry, Gary, and Roger were born. While in Montana she waitressed in a café while Lloyd worked in a local dairy. She never really cared for the mountains, and she finally got back to the sandhills of Nebraska, where they worked on various ranches. They finally ended up on the family ranch in the early '70’s where she grew up and spent most of her years. She worked at the locker and Arthur Enterprise for a while, but, she then decided to stay home and help out on the ranch and raise her boys.

Family was the most important thing in the world to her. From gathering her whole family and getting all of them to go completely silent to listen to her read, “The Christmas Story” from the family Bible, to never missing a birthday or holiday card for her children, their wives, 6 grandkids, and all her 12 great-grandkids. We all thought that she may have gone a little overboard, but we learned just to go with it because it’s what made her happy. She loved Halloween and seeing all the neighbor’s kids in their fun costumes and chatting with everyone that stopped by. Her enjoyment was baking cookies, gardening, and making all of her different crafts for the different holidays. The love and thought she put behind each of her gifts were always tailored perfectly to the person receiving it. She loved her horses and even after when she wasn’t able to ride anymore, she just enjoyed going out and talking to them.

Rose White was the smile and heart behind the camera capturing every memory of her family possible and she was the fearless grandma that fought of snakes, healed scrapes, and dried tears with love and treats. She may be gone, but, her memory will live on through all of her friends and family.

Survivors include her four sons: Roy (Jana), Sutherland, NE, Terry (Deb), Ogallala, NE, Gary, Roscoe, NE.  and Roger (Cara) of Ogallala; four granddaughters: Darraigh (Brian) Parker, Alva. OK., Kendra (Angelo) Lara, Cheyenne, Wyo., Jessica (Kelsey) Glodowski, McCook, NE, and Kayla (Nathan) Buell of Doniphan, NE;  two grandsons, Wesley (Audrey) White, Sidney, NE and Brandon White of Nashville, TN.  Also, one sister, Ruth Neal, of Prey, Montana; and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lloyd, one sister, Anita Kuntz, and one brother, Lee Hyatt.
