The National Weather Service in North Platte is warning of an elevated chance of wildfires throughout the day Wednesday — followed by a chance of moisture in the evening.
There is a 40 percent chance of showers in the North Platte area, mainly before midnight. Conditions will be blustery with northwest winds sustained at 15 to 30 mph, gusting to 40 mph in the evening. The overnight low will be around the freezing point.
After another slight chance of showers Thursday afternoon, the NWS is predicting cooler, windy weather with mostly clear skies through the weekend. Highs will be in the low- to upper-50s, with overnight lows Friday through Sunday well below the freezing point.
