
Phyllis Yuvonna (Glee) Sexton, 87, of Omaha- formerly of North Platte, NE passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Waterford at Miracle Hills Assisted Living in Omaha. She was born on November 29, 1934 in Hayes Center, NE the daughter of Arthur and Geraldine Margaret (Nickerson) Glee.
Phyllis attended school in Hayes Center, graduating in 1952 and then attended the School of Commerce. She worked as a teacher in a country school house in Hayes County, and spent most of her career as a junior CPA bookkeeper. On June 13, 1953 she married Robertson Sexton at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. In May 1954, they moved to Omaha and in June of 1995, the couple moved to North Platte. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in North Platte. Phyllis loved taking care of her children and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to mourn her passing are her daughters, Julie (Daniel) Smith of Omaha and Nancy Smith of Papillion; grandchildren, Nicholas, Brian, Zachary, Tyler, Leslie, Robertson, Drew, Samantha, Sara, Terry T.J., and Melissa; great-grandchildren, Angel, Ethan, Isaiah, Asher, Gage, Theresa, Remington, Adaline, Rylee, Ben, Macey, Macy, Ben, Micah, William, Serenity, Skylar, and Jade; great-great-grandchildren, Dominic and Nicholi; daughters-in-law, Mary Lou Sexton of Omaha and Stephanie McEvoy of Yutan; brothers, Kon Glee of Overland Park, KS and Lyle Glee of MT; sisters, Sheryl Munson of North Platte and Sharron Rader of Omaha; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robertson; daughter, Janette (George) Kubr; son, Timothy Sexton; son-in-law, Dennis Smith; sister, Darlene Busher; and brother, Verle Glee.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Emily McCreery officiating. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Hayes Center Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Carpenter Memorial Chapel.
