Grand Island, Neb. - Schools officials for Grand Island Public Schools announced today that there will be no girls' varsity basketball for the upcoming season due to no juniors or seniors. North Platte girls' basketball was set to play the Islanders on Dec. 14th at home. As of now, that day will be a boys varsity contest between North Platte and Grand Island.
