Dennis Lloyd Fullerton, 80, of Valentine Nebraska, passed away on January 7, 2022.

Dennis was born on January 20, 1941, to Rolland and Pearl (Todd) Fullerton in Valentine, Nebraska.  Dennis went to grade school at Shadley Creek School and graduated from Keya Paha County High School in 1959. Dennis worked with his father on the family ranch for ten years.  He then purchased it and continued to farm and ranch for the next 50 years.  As part of the Shadley Creek community, Dennis was always ready to lend a helping hand whether it was fighting a prairie fire, putting up hay, taking care of someone else’s livestock while they were away or a branding.  Dennis and Carol traveled the country for a few years but always returned to their roots at the ranch.  They retired to Cherry Hills Assisted Living in 2019 where Dennis spent his time socializing with the residents.  He spent his final months at Linden Court nursing home in North Platte, Nebraska.  Dennis was a Keya Paha County commissioner, active in the Keya Paha county fair board and assisted with the Old Settlers Reunion.  As a Great Grandfather, Grandfather, Father, Husband, Brother and Friend, Dennis’  quiet, calm nature and quick dry wit will be missed by many.

In 1962, Dennis met Carol (Rowan) at Springview, Nebraska and they were married on June 29, 1963.  They have 3 children, Denise, Todd and Scott.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Rolland and Pearl Fullerton.

He is survived by his wife Carol, children Denise (Mike) Hoeft of North Platte, NE. Todd (Debra) Fullerton of Bozeman, MT. Scott (Shawna) Fullerton of Valentine, NE.  Grandchildren: Meghan (Samson) Zogg of North Platte, NE.  Kortnei (Shane) Smith of Wellfleet, NE.  Taylor (Alyssa Schutt) Hoeft of Fremont, NE.  Hanna, Andrew (Ashleigh Smith) and Olivia Fullerton of Bozeman, MT.  Steven and Savannah Fullerton of Valentine, NE.  Great Grandchildren: Hayden, Isaac, and Hank Zogg.  Brynn Smith.  Sisters:  Diane (Bill) Thomas of Loveland, CO. Shirley (Dale) Adkinson of Gordon, NE.  And many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at the Valentine Berean Bible Church on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Sparks Cemetery, an organization Dennis felt strongly about. Please send donations to Sparks Cemetery, PO Box 425, Rushville, NE 69360 or Security First Bank in Valentine Nebraska.
