NPCC Music Department to Host “Nature’s Awakening” Concert April 29

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — The North Platte Community College music department will present its end-of-year concert, “Nature’s Awakening,” at 7 p.m. April 29 in the McDonald-Belton Theater on the NPCC South Campus, 601 W. State Farm Road.

The concert will feature performances by the college’s vocal and instrumental ensembles, including the Jazzy Knights, Knightingales and Knightly Singers. Piano technology students will provide pre-show entertainment.

Special performances include a violin duet by student Anja Tejral of North Platte and music instructor Kristin Simpson, and a flute duet by Rachel Williams and adjunct music instructor Jennifer Smallcomb. Guest violinist Ilias Wonch of Stapleton will also take the stage, along with adjunct music instructor Taina Ward on guitar.

Three end-of-year awards will be presented during the event: Outstanding Musician, Outstanding Instrumentalist and Musician of the Year.

The concert is free and open to the public. A reception will follow in the fireplace area of the McDonald-Belton Building.
