
Patricia “Patty” Thompson, 76, of North Platte, was promoted to glory on June 26, 2022, at Great Plains Health in North Platte. She was born March 11, 1946, to Candelario and Florencia (Ramirez) Silos, in North Platte.
Patty graduated from North Platte High School. She worked at the Holiday Inn for many years. She was united in marriage to Joseph Thompson in 1969 in North Platte. She had one daughter, Gina.
At the age of 50, she received her Bachelor’s Degree and at age 60, she received her Master’s Degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She taught for North Platte Public Schools, retiring in 2019. Patty was a member of the Salvation Army Church, where she was very active. She gave so much of herself to others and was very thoughtful and good natured.
Patty enjoyed shopping, crossword puzzles, going to concerts, musicals, volunteering, and reading her Bible.
She was the center of her family and will be dearly missed as the rock of her family.
Patty is survived by her husband, Joseph of North Platte; one daughter, Gina Verturini, Los Angeles, California; brother, Alec (Sharon) Silos, Englewood, Colorado; along with numerous other family members and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Candelario and Florencia Silos; an infant son and infant daughter; siblings Julio Candy Silos, Eva Polanco, Mary Angela Braman, Esther Delgadillo, Bernabe Silos, Daniel Silos and Mary Lou Ramos.
Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army Church.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the Salvation Army Church, North Platte, with Majors Lynnete Poff officiating. Burial will follow at North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon – 7, Wednesday, June 29, with family receiving friends from 5 -7, at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home.
