In Nebraska, 26 fatal crashes in 2020 involved drivers under the influence of drugs. In 2021, that number grew to 35. 

Law enforcement is trying to stop it.&nbsp; From April 19 through April 23, the North Platte Police Department, in partnership with the Nebraska Department of Transportation, will participate in a “Drug Impaired Driving” enforcement grant.&nbsp; 

Additional officers will be on the streets and highways looking for traffic violations, with an emphasis on impaired driving.&nbsp; The North Platte Police Department encourages impaired drivers to find alternate means of transportation, such as catching a ride from a sober friend.&nbsp; &nbsp;
