
Dorothy Lee McCall, 78, of North Platte, passed away July 10, 2022 at Sutherland Care Center. She was born on February 22, 1944 to Kenneth and Dorothy Rose in Omaha.
At age nine, Dorothy was adopted by Loren and Martha Woodcock. She graduated from North Platte High School. After Dorothy’s children were grown, she went to nursing school and received her LPN degree. She cared for her parents and neighbors until their death and also did in-home care.
Dorothy married Lynn McCall in 1961 at First Lutheran Church in North Platte. She worked side by side with Lynn on the farm and loved the farm life. Every day they worked together was another day of vacation. She enjoyed the outdoors, nature, working in the garden and the yard. She loved horseback riding, training dogs, sewing, leather tooling and she sold many of her items. She treasured her time as a member of the Velvet Spurs. Dorothy’s family was the center of her life.
Dorothy is survived by husband Lynn of North Platte; children, John (Gaylene) McCall of North Platte, Kelly (Roger) Thompson of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Jessica (B.J.) Wilson of North Platte, Jennifer (Josh) Staab of North Platte, Ben (Alexa) McCall of North Platte, Alex Henkel (Taunya) of Nampa, ID, Ashley (Gage) Dike of North Platte, Dustin (Krystal) Henkel of North Platte, Kyle Thompson of Oshkosh, Alex Thompson of Oshkosh; great grandchildren, Halli (Duel) Arensdorf, Levi Wilson, Carson Wilson, Josie Wilson, Oakley Staab, Axel Staab, Hadley McCall, Hagen McCall, Samantha Meissner, Kyle Henkel, Trinity Henkel, Bryce Jones, Gunner Dike; great great grandchildren, Ryker Kohler, Rayken Kohler, Luka Thompson, Karter Henkel; siblings Donna Crawley of Omaha, Sharon Duckworth of Texas, Nancy Woodcock of California; numerous other family members and many friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Loren and Martha; daughters, Amy Lee and Marta Lee; brother, Gary Woodcock; granddaughter-in-law, Shianne Thompson; great- grandson, Osmund Thompson.
