Donald C. (Don) Fletcher, 80, of Maxwell, Nebraska, passed away June 26, 2022 at his home.

He was born June 17, 1942 to Vinton L. and Myra L. (Johnson) Fletcher in Sargent, Nebraska.
Don grew up and attended school in Gandy, Curtis, and Dickens.  While attending trade school for auto mechanics, he received his GED.  Don worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for thirty-four years, retiring in 2002.
Don was united in marriage to Rosezella (Rose) M. Feeney on December 3, 1961. To this union four sons were born: Mitchell, Michael, Morgan and Murray.
Don fulfilled his dream of owning a small ranch and raising cows, along with custom haying.  Music has always been a passion of Don’s.  He played his guitar and sang in several bands, one which included his brother, sister, and sister-in-law.  They created many great memories.  He and Rose enjoyed traveling to Branson twice a year, for many years, to enjoy the music shows and scenery.  Don loved his family, and looked forward to the many dinners with his children and siblings. They ate a lot, played cards and had many laughs.  Don and Rose were the entertainers and were delighted to have family and friends come to their home to visit.  Their door was always open! He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and his dogs. Don was a member of the Maxwell Town Board, serving as chairman, Maxwell Volunteer Fire Department, Maxwell Gun Club and the North Platte Moose.

Don is survived by his wife Rose, of Maxwell, Nebraska; sons, Mitchell (Karolyn), Fletcher, Michael (Annette) Fletcher, Morgan (Jennifer) Fletcher, all of Maxwell, Nebraska and Murray (Michaela) Fletcher of Elmwood, Nebraska; grandchildren, Katie (Taylor) Linegar of Gretna, Nebraska, Tara (Jordan) Hiatt of Lincoln, Nebraska, Cody (Marci) Fletcher of North Platte, Nebraska, Austin Fletcher of Gothenburg, Nebraska, Brandon (Madeline) Fletcher of Maxwell, Nebraska, and Reid, Clayton, and Karissa Fletcher all of Elmwood, Nebraska; great-grandchildren, Camden and Eden Fletcher, Eli and Carter Linegar, and Malcolm Hiatt; step-grandchildren, Tyler (Brianna) Kuenning of Murdock, Nebraska, and Cassie Schultz of North Platte, Nebraska; step-great-grandchildren, Ean Coe and Kade Odea; sisters, Betty Brown and Pat Hengen; sister-in-law, Elinor Fletcher; brother-in-law, Vernon Hansen; many nieces and nephews; along with many other family and friends.
