
A Graveside Service for Edwin A. “Ed” Wetter will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. at the Norton Cemetery in Norton, Kansas with Pastor Wes Hafner officiating.
Edwin Armon “Ed” Wetter, 67 years of age, of Oxford, died on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at his home in Oxford. Ed was born on September 22, 1953, in Norton, the youngest of four children, born to H. George and Zeta (Nusse) Wetter. Ed was raised on the family farm three miles east and one mile north of Norton, and received his education from the Frog Pond Country School and Norton Elementary School, and then attended Norton Junior and Senior High School, graduating with the class of 1972. During his school years, Ed enjoyed being involved with FFA, Glee Club, Mixed Chorus, and the DECA Club.
Following his education, Ed began driving the milk truck for Rite Way (milk) Transfer.
Ed worked as a mechanic most of his life several different places, including: in Holdrege, Nebraska, at Strong Brother’s Chevrolet; for Paulson’s in Cozad, Nebraska; and at Eustis Ag. & Auto. Ed also worked as a ranch hand at Purdum, Nebraska, and other odd jobs.
Ed enjoyed building hotrods and other mechanical work on vehicles, hunting, and enjoyed watching Sunday Mass on TV every weekend.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Laura Sweeley and her husband, Sherman; one brother, Roger Wetter and his wife, Lynnette (Staab); and one brother-in-law, Jerry Johnson.
Ed leaves to mourn his passing; his son, Edwin “Chuck” Wetter and his wife, Bobbette of Pratt, Kansas; one sister, Caron Wetter of Limon, Colorado; seven grandchildren: Cymbre Wetter, Tinley Wetter, Alyssa Campbell, Dallie Campbell, Jonie Campbell, Charlotte Wetter, and Caselynn Wetter; along with many other relatives, and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford, with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
A memorial has been established in Ed’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family.
