
Marlene Kay Blanchard, 81, of North Platte, passed away February 28, 2023 at North Platte Care Center.
She was born January 2, 1942 to Carl and Francis Olson in North Platte.
Marlene was a talented and gifted hairdresser and was well known for her eclectic flair in the latest styles for her many faithful clients. She was co-owner of Adam & Eve Hair Salon for many years.
Marlene was also an artist, particularly focusing on Indian Art. She won many awards over the years for her abstract paintings and was the 1992 Nebraskaland Days art competition Grand Prize winner. Over the years, Marlene and her husband Bruce would travel to the Southwest so she could attend art shows.
Marlene had a love and appreciation for music and played the piano and violin.
Marlene was a very kind and caring person and was quick to compliment you when she saw you. She had an eye for style and fashion and knew exactly how to accessorize every outfit. A room would light up when Marlene walked in.
Marlene was a loving mother and grandmother (Tashi) and a dear friend to many who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include son, Layne (Janeen); daughter-in-law, Diane; grandchildren, Bryson, Nichole, and Dustin; great granddaughter, Lelani; sister, Mary; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by parents, Carl and Francis; husband, Bruce; son, Jay.

Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 6, 2023 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with pastor Jeremy Rinke officiating. Inurnment will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so 9:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M., Friday, March 3, 2023 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
